KD Country 94 On-Air Personalities

Wade Gerstner - Waterside Wakeup

Wade Gerstner

Wade is a home-grown, hard working Kansas guy who has the "perfect face" for radio! When not running the stations or being on-air with "Waterside Wakeup" or sports, Wade enjoys time with his wife and son and of course enjoys sports, including golf, tennis, and basketball. Wade just turned 22. If you believe that, then he has some oceanfront property in Arizona to sell you!!

Dusty Deines - Waterside Wakeup

Dusty Deines

Dusty was born in WaKeeney, KS and raised on a farm south of town. He quickly realized that farming wasn’t his thing and developed a love for sports. He decided when he was in 7th grade that he wanted to do play-by-play broadcasting and the rest is history. After receiving a degree from Colby Community College in May of 2003, he began working at KD Country 94 and Z 96.3 in July 2003. When he’s not traveling all over the state covering high school sports, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends, being involved in efforts to help the Muscular Dystrophy Association, helping with church activities and of course making as many trips as possible to Manhattan, KS to support K-State athletics.

Mike Schrant - Waterside Wakeup

Mike SchrantMike is one of those guys who has spent nearly a lifetime trying to figure out what he wants to do when he grows up. He has split time as a broadcaster and educator having first worked in radio in the early 1970’s while attending junior college. The two careers are directly connected because many of the 25 years as an educator were spent teaching broadcast journalism at the high school and college levels.

Mike is married and has three adult children (no grandchildren yet) and enjoys sports, debating politics, gardening, landscaping-hauling rocks, and swapping stories with the "good old boys".

Adrienne Brooks - Middays 9 AM-2 PM

Adrienne Brooks

ADRIENNE BROOKS originally studied psychology but quickly developed a love for radio that has lasted more than 20 years. She’s an avid “I Love Lucy” fan and could spend an entire day watching back-to-back episodes. Adrienne enjoys being with family and friends and spending time with her husband and daughter.

Tad Svendsen - Afternoons 2-7 PM

Tad Svendsen

TAD SVENDSEN has been broadcasting since he was in high school, starting out at a country station of course! He absolutely loves Country music and boasts an almost encyclopedic knowledge of it. His daily “Big Burning Question” keeps the phones hopping every afternoon.

Penny Mitchell - Evenings 7-11 PM

Penny Mitchell

PENNY MITCHELL came to radio direct from nursing school, a move that almost made her parents pass out. She’s a hard-core vegetarian who has climbed mountains, literally, in her native Colorado. Penny once chauffeured Billy Dean around for several hours and would like to publicly acknowledge that she did not kidnap him!

Don Bishop - Overnights 11 PM-5 AM

Don Bishop

DON BISHOP has been working in radio since the 1960s. He enjoys the vast outdoors and fishing in remote streams and lakes. A history buff, Don also enjoys high vintage performance cars and has a restored ‘68 Cougar. One of his greatest thrills was filling in for a week as announcer for “The Price is Right.”
