Earlier in the day yesterday, 21-year old Brandon Smith of Beloit was sentenced as a part of the Mitchell County District Court February Motion Day Criminal Docket.
District Judge Kim Cudney sentenced Smith to 7-months in prison on a charge of felony Vehicular Burglary and 1-year in the Mitchell County Jail on a single count of misdemeanor Theft.
Last month at arraignment, Smith agreed to take a plea bargain – pleading no contest to both charges.
No prison time for Smith however, who was later granted a 12-month supervised probation because of where his criminal activity placed him on the state’s sentencing grid.
