Will she, or won’t she? That’s the question Kansas Senator Jerry Moran is hoping Labor Secretary Hilda Solis is pondering. The Junior Senator from Kansas issued a personal invitation to Solis to visit rural Kansas and see how proposed rules by the Department of Labor will threaten the future of family farms.
The proposed regulations will impose restrictions on many common farm activities of youth on farms and ranches not directly owned by their parents.
Senator Moran calls the proposed regulations overly-burdensome adding – they will alter the rural way of life and disrupt agriculture practices across the country.
In addition to inviting Secretary Solis to personally visit the State of Kansas, Moran has requested a meeting with the Secretary in Washington so he can share his reservations about the proposed changes.
